Grade 5 Geocaching

By Tamara Craft
29 Sep

On September 21st Ms. Craft’s grade five class travelled to R.I. Baker in Coaldale A.B. Together with Ms. Stewart’s grade five class we learned about conserving the environment at the Helen Schuler Center in Lethbridge, and the Weston Family Conservation Center in Waterton. Finding wild mushrooms, a giant hornet’s nest, watching a snake eat a mouse and discovering medicine plants were only some of the highlights of our trip. We had the opportunity to go geocaching, as well as hike across the plains. We played some games about how to conserve the environment. Overall we had a lot of fun with our new friends! A special thanks to our wonderful volunteers Mr. Dumka, Mrs. Groves, Mrs. Webber and Mrs. Ellis! Thanks for making our field trip such a success.
